Vircru

About: Mobile app interface design and supporting Shopify website for a boat monitoring start-up.

Background: When you're miles away from your boat the Vircru smart monitoring system keeps you connected 24/7; monitoring connected appliances, power, water, security and location.

Project: Develop a simple, intuitive UI solution to enable boat owners to set up and control a smart monitorying system. The design leaned heavily on existing interaction patterns found in smart home appliance set up processes.

Urgent information is displayed via notifications with traffic light colour coding showing the status of your boat system. When onboard the boat the app UI switches to a journey tracking mode providing the user with an interface customised to their requirements.
